Req. #ID16-16 Maintenance Millwright - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Will install, repair, overhaul and maintain machinery according to plans/blueprints using a variety of trade skills in order to maintain Sunshine Minting’s production capabilities.

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Weld, solder and connect a variety of pipes, including copper, black iron and PVC.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Follow plans/blueprints to verify material components and specifications of machinery for installation or repair.
  • Perform general plant maintenance, including heating and ventilation systems, lighting, plumbing and others as required.
  • Test machinery and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
  • Perform maintenance on heating and air systems, lighting and general repairs within the facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years related work experience; or Maintenance/Millwright certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Entry-level, full-time, non-seasonal manufacturing positions.  Blanking Operators are responsible for  blanking and weighing, or other tasks as assigned while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.  Shifts available include Days (5am-5pm) and Graves (5pm-5am).  Weekly rotation is 4-days on 3-days off / 3-days on 4-days off.  You work 7 days in 2 weeks and get full-time pay every other Friday!!  MUST be flexible to working holidays.  Full benefits package available upon completion of 90-day probationary period.

Manages all production aspects of the operation; coordinates all production activities to satisfy company and customer requirements and maintains activities in accordance with production schedules.

  • Manage and coordinate all production activities to meet Company and Customer requirements.
  • Manage all production personnel including all shift Supervisors and lead personnel.
  • Negotiate revisions in production schedules as required by material availability and production facilities.
  • Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes. Identify opportunities for technological improvements, equipment upgrades and process changes.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, budgets, objectives and procedures to meet the strategic goals of the Company.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through training, compliance, and safety committee.
  • Responsible for work scheduling, employee evaluations, training, and equipment utilization.
  • Review departmental financial statements, sales reports and other relevant performance data to measure productivity and the achievement of strategic targets to determine areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Determine staffing requirements and assist with the interviewing and hiring process.
  • Implement Company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for production related communication flow and coordination between all shifts, departments and resources.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of quality and manufacturing processes, implementation and flow.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of manufacturing production.
  • In depth knowledge of equipment, material and processes for precious metals minting, or relevant knowledge and experience.
  • Modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques, such as ISO9001, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, etc.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret Customer specifications, or technical procedures.
  • Ability to learn and understand all facets of our minting operation.
  • Good interpersonal skills/communication both written and verbal.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college and three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing, process engineering and/or project management preferred.

Req. #NV01-16           Maintenance Technician – Las Vegas, Nevada

Performs a variety of maintenance functions including, but not limited to, installation, repair, overhaul and maintenance of machinery according to plans and blueprints in order to maintain Sunshine Minting’s production capabilities. Must be available for grave and weekend shifts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of three years related work experience; or Maintenance/Millwright certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Req. #NV04-15           Maintenance Supervisor – Las Vegas, Nevada

Supervises maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules; develops and implements policies and procedures; evaluates staff and makes hiring and termination recommendations; ensures staff are trained in maintenance activities and are following procedures. Performs a variety of maintenance functions, as necessary, in order to maintain Sunshine Minting's production capabilities.

  • Must have experience working on electrical (480v), hydraulic, and compressed air systems.  Knowledge of PLCs and automated systems preferred. 
  • 5 years of experience supervising 10+ people in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean, 5S, and OSHA-10 hour experience is preferred.
  • Direct maintenance activities based on established schedules and priorities in meeting operational needs and in a cost effective manner.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of building and facility to determine repair needs.
  • Monitors the workmanship and performance of staff by inspecting projects assigned to and completed by them.
  • Make recommendations on personnel issues including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, disciplinary actions and vacation schedules.
  • Demonstrates a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with all staff.
  • Performs maintenance and repair work as required.
  • Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for all aspects of Sunshine Minting's plant, buildings and equipment.
  • Obtains quotations for subcontract equipment and building maintenance or repairs.
  • Liaises with subcontractors for the performance of any equipment and building maintenance or repairs.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies as well as all applicable laws.
